Maddi's 3 favorite toys

So most puppies get into everything.. they eat furniture, cell phones, clothes, basically whatever is NOT theirs. It seems the only things they won't chew is their toys. Maddi doesn't seem to enjoy her toys that much either...instead she goes into the backyard and finds stuff to chew on and play with. Her three favorite toys are:

1. PVC Pipe

2. Branches & Leaves (usually as big as her)

3. Her Ball
She takes this thing everywhere with her

So while most puppies are tearing apart people's houses, Maddi just goes through the backyard and finds stuff she can play with that she knows won't make us mad. How she knows the difference between a wood stick compared to the wood table Drew and I will never know...she must take after me!

The Tricycle

One of Maddi's favorite things to do is ride in the car with us. She doesn't just like to sit in the back though, she likes coming up front and being as close as she can to us. Drew likes this picture because he says we are a tricycle and she steers me and him.

Hi Maddi, Hi Drew!

She was so bummed out once we made her sit in the back where she's supposed to sit. You can just see the sadness in her eyes..poor bubbies!

Maddi and Her Cousin

For those of you who don't know, Drew and I are from Southern California. We both still have family that live there so we go back and visit all the time. Drew's mom and step-dad live in Newbury Park and we went to visit them after we got Maddi so they could meet their grandpuppy! Maddi was going to be introduced to her cousin for the very first time, their black lab, Zoe. This is how their first interaction went down...

They look like they hate each other, but they were actually just play fighting and Maddi had so much fun with her cousin. Drew and I sure enjoyed it, especially the drive home when Maddi slept for 6 hours straight!

The Table Incident

This is one of my favorite pictures of Maddi. This is how she started, posing in the chair looking adorable. And then she got bored in the chair.

I walked into the kitchen and Maddi was just sitting on the table in the backyard. When she saw me she didn't even try getting off, she just turned back and looked at me.

She knows exactly what the camera looks like because I tend to use it a lot with her, so once I pulled it out and started taking pictures she thought it would be smart to stand on the table. What I don't understand about this scenario is how she got onto the table without tipping the chair over and why she would ever want to get on top of the table? Hmm..the mind of a puppy

This is Maddi's first interaction with her aunties. The yellow lab is auntie Bailey, Drew and I refer to her as Auntie Bay Bay and the Golden Retriever is Aunt Holly or as Drew and I like to call her, Holly Bear.

This picture makes me laugh so hard because Bailey is trying to figure out what Maddi is. She moves like an animal and smells like one, but she doesn't look like a dog?

And this picture...oh my word. Poor Maddi was so used to eating from her Golden Retriever mommy that the first time she met Holly she tried getting milk from her. Sorry Maddi- those things are all dried up! And Holly was so taken back she didn't know what to do about this little thing trying to bite her.

They quickly became friends and taught Maddi everything she knows, which isn't always a good thing.
Maddi was a Christmas present for my boyfriend Drew (the cutie pie below) and she was a surprise to him! He thought I was taking a final while I was really driving three hours to pick her up. I brought her into the backyard, where Drew was working out, and he was in shock when he saw her! He's dreamed of having his own dog since he moved out of his parents house when he was 18.

Drew in love with his new soon-to-be best friend

The look on Drew's face says it all. He had so much love for her from the second he first held her. We didn't realize it at the time, but our lives would change forever after she came into our lives

This is Maddi the first day we got her! We wanted a pure bread golden retriever and there were none available in Arizona so we looked elsewhere. We ended up finding the sweetest family who breed's golden's who live in Utah and that's when we saw pictures of Khloe (who is now Maddi) and fell in love. They were willing to meet us half way, so my mom and I drove up north and picked her up! When we picked her up we got to meet her brothers and sisters. She had 4 sisters and 5 brothers and we almost came home with a second Golden they were so darn cute!
